Hi; I’m Katye Scarlett Whorton and welcome to Sweet Home Scarlett! (Yes, a cute little pun off of Sweet Home Alabama) My hope is to bring some new inspiration into your life while also spicing it up a little with some luxury decor staples that -in my opinion- are a total necessity. I discovered my passion for design close to three years ago now, when my husband and I purchased our first home.

I would say my style is a healthy mixture of believing -deep in my soul- that I am Katye Kardashian (Notice that my first name even starts with the letter K) and your bestie waiting on you at T.J.Maxx or Homegoods. Modern, meets farmhouse, meets coastal (I grew up in South Florida), meets minimalistic, meets vintage, meets sophisticated luxury, meets perfection (I mean self-confidence girls- we encourage positivity here), is basically what I’m going for.
Did I mention, I am a full time PICU (Pediatric ICU) and Critical Care Transport RN? I knew I was forgetting something.

My career is another huge passion of mine! BUT there is one teeny tiny issue… it doesn’t put Kim K. style money in your friend’s bank account. So, I’m realistic…I think!! (Warning! Some may believe otherwise).
-The luxury life chose me girls.

Nevertheless, I believe that just like any good closet has sassy staple pieces, your house should have some sexy decor staples that you can (And I encourage) splurge on from time-to-time. Everything in between can be affordable to the everyday girl- just like me.
